Helicopter scenic flights and the Helihike are the most popular glacier activities in Franz Josef. Helicopter charters can land at Hukawai Lodge to whisk you and your group away on a tailored scenic flight. I often charter a helicopter when friends and family come to stay. I guarantee the sights and the experience never get old.

WALKS
There are many wonderful walks at various levels of fitness. If you think you’d like to break your drive on the way to Hukawai Lodge or when you leave, we can recommend a number of walks you can take before your arrival and as you head to your next destination. Staff complete the local walks every year and we have a list of walks at Reception.
